When Life Throws You Oranges

Life has a funny way of making things very meh when you really don't have time to deal with it. I wouldn't say that my life is at the all time high right now, but it isn't at an all time low. It is pretty steady right now. I am at the moment in my life where the universe can't decide if it wants to make me crash down or soar high. Some moments I don't want to deal with anyone and some moments I want to jump with joy and go on crazy adventures.

Dealing with the highs of life is easy, but dealing with the lows is a challenge within itself. I thought that I would dedicate today's post with how I deal with lows and dips in my life. This is more so for my own good as it reminds me how I overcome the chaos that happens in life, but also for you to maybe get some ideas when you are feeling low. Trust me, everybody can use any motivation they can get when they are feeling low.

  • Listen to some music: Music can change any situation around. Listening to music allows us to find song lyrics that relate to our lives. It helps me because it makes me realize I am not alone. I am not going crazy or overreacting because other people have felt this way. Other people have been in the same situation that I am. Other people have dealt with this, I am not alone. Music allows us to get through the craziest of situations and to overcome them. It allows us to sulk for that brief time.
  • Go for a run: Running allows me to clear my mind. However, it also allows me to be with my thoughts which can never be a good thing. It does allow me to realize how I am actually feeling. Running with yourself you don't have to put on a front, you don't distract yourself, and you don't lie to yourself. You allow yourself to sort through everything you are thinking and learn how you actually feel about a situation. It allows us to overcome what is bugging us.
  •  Have a good cry: Crying always helps. It allows us to let down all of our stress, heartbreak, and problems through one emotion. It gets everything out and allows us to never have to worry about it again. You are the most vulnerable and you are you. You let your body sulk for the time being and that is always something that is needed. You can't let your body hold in your emotions forever. So instead of snapping and exploding, just cry it out.
  • Treat yourself: Having a treat yourself day is always some thing that can help. It allows you to look out for yourself and pamper yourself. You feel better and you get something for yourself out of it. What could be better than that?
  • Lean on your friends and family: What else are they there for? They are there to help you through the lows of life. They allow you to get yourself to be yourself. They allow you to vent and try to do everything they can to cheer you up.
  • Go out on the town: Get out on the town for the night. Going out allows you to take your mind off of everything going on. It also allows you to have fun. You can let loose and forget all of what is going on for a night.
What do you do when you reach a low in life? How do you overcome it?

  1. I do quite a few of these, I love listening to music when low and sometimes I do watch a sad film just to cry of I'm a little tense. Great post :)

  3. One thing I learnt from my favourite TV show ever was that a dance party can solve anything! So now when I'm feeling low, I blast my Cheesy Hits playlist as loud as possible, turn off all the lights, close the curtains, and have a dance party to myself. No one to feel self conscious in front of, just you and the music.

Love this list, though! I've saved it as a favourite so I can come back and remind myself of different techniques when a solo dance party isn't possible xx

  7. I love the title of this post because it's not the same old "when life gives you lemons" it's important to remember these when you have dips because some self care is important.
